ASUS A7V

The A7V is the latest offering from the motherboard giant Asus. ItÆs a feature-packed top-of-the-line motherboard. The board supports the new line of AMD processors based on the socket A platform. Also, this motherboard is compatible with technologies in the pipeline, with both Ultra ATA 100 and ATA 66 support.

The benchmark machine carried a Geforce2 GTS graphics card, 128 MB RAM and a Duron 600 processor. It scored 23.4 in Content Creation Winstone 2000, and in Quake 3 it achieved 88 fps at 640x480 resolution and 16-bit colour.

If a Duron or a ThunderBird is next on your shopping list, then do give the ASUS A7V a deep thought, because despite being a tad bit expensive, it provides excellant performance and is worth the price. ASUS also provides regular BIOS updates.
